You might be wondering what is a helical pile? In a nutshell, a screw pile and a helical anchor is a type of foundation that can be loaded right after installation is complete. A major benefit is you don’t have to wait for the concrete to harden. Lots of time saved! Our helical piles can be used to support just about any type of structure in just about any location.
So, now that you’re an expert on what it is – we wanted to give you a glimpse into what a typical week might look like for our crew.
Monday
Start a repair job that required 3 P3 piers installed to lift the corner of a failing foundation. The crew has to get creative on this job because a nearby sewer line made it impossible to excavate from the outside like we normally would do. And, the nature of the house made it impossible to work from the inside so the only option was to open the window. Pretty extreme, right?

Tuesday
By the end of the day Tuesday, the house was stabilized and the work was signed off by an engineer. Meanwhile, some of the crew were having another adventure installing piers for a new cabin in very rocky soils.

Wednesday
All hands on deck when you have an old cabin elevated 6 feet waiting for it’s new foundation. Over 50 piers were installed and the two R2D’s (workhorses!) made quick work. The building was ready for new beams and new foundation by the end of the day Friday.

Thursday
While the guys were hard at work on the cabin, we made a quick reconnaissance trip out to Judd Lake Alaska where we will be starting a remote 200 pier job. No plane can go out to the bush empty so a few piers were loaded up with some insulation and off we went. Much of the materials have already been flown in by plane or helicopter and we hope to fly in the Em1 for this job by helicopter as well.
Friday
Back in town and wrapping up the cabin job and getting ready to start some other cabin foundations while we catch up on deck pier installations around town.

No matter the job, big or small, we’re your team to get it done. If you have a project you want to discuss, drop us a line.
